How to Replace Your Old Shower Head:

Congratulations on your new showerhead! Now it's time to set up your AlpenForce. 


 Please note! 

 Through the delivery, the showerhead might accumulate particles/dust caused by the minerals inside. It's completely okay.

 Please rinse it before you start using it.

☑️ Adjustable wrench

☑️ Teflon tape

☑️ A couple of cloths

1. Remove old handheld showerhead.


Using either your hand or an adjustable wrench unscrew your hose from your old showerhead.


Remember righty tighty... lefty loosey! 

2. Clean the threads of the shower arm.

 

Use a clean rag to wipe off the screw threads of the shower arm. You could also use an old toothbrush to get in between the threads and clean out any built-up grime and rust.

Remove any old Teflon tape from the shower arm’s threads.

3. Tape the threads of the shower arm.

 

Apply about 2-3 turns of Teflon tape to the threads of the shower arm, wrapping the tape tightly in a clockwise direction and making sure that it is embedding in the threads properly.

 

Wrap the tape in a clockwise direction so when you screw on the new shower head, the sealing Teflon tape doesn’t come undone.

Be sure to press the taping into the grooves of the threads.

4. Attach the new shower head.

 

Place the new showerhead onto the shower arm, and twist it clockwise by hand to secure it into place. Once the showerhead is secure, use the adjustable wrench to tighten the showerhead.


Tighten the hose onto the showerhead clockwise as much as it will go.

5. Turn on the water.

 

Turn on the shower, and check for any leaks are coming from the showerhead. If you find any leaks, turn the water off, reapply the Teflon taping, and try tightening it a little more.


When tightening the showerhead, be careful not to overtighten it.

  • What if I don't have a showerhead hose?

    First of all I want to apologize for any inconvenience. Our shower head does not come with a hose. Most of our customers use the one already installed in their shower.   • What if I don't have a handheld showerhead adapter?

    I am really sorry for this inconvenience. The Alpenforce does not come with a shower mount. Most of our customers already have a handheld showerhead installed and use the same hose + adapter already installed.


    Unfortunately, we are currently sold out of the adapter

  • Is a pipe wrench needed when tightening the shower head?

    Absolutely not. Sure, you might need something a little bigger than regular pliers, but you don't need that kind of brawn at all. If you can't tighten it enough to stop a spray or drip, then you didn't install it correctly.


    Yes, it just screws-on, but you MUST first wrap the pipe's threads with Teflon tape (at least three times around) to have it seal correctly. After the Teflon tape, you can sometimes dry with nothing more than a hand-tight installation.

  • How do I affix the shower head on to the wall?

    It starts with proper plumbing. Behind the wall should be a screwed-in closet flange, this is what the shower head's arm screws into, and it should be quite solid. If yours is loose, it should be replaced or re-seated for a permanent and proper fix.

  • The old shower head is really stuck. It appears someone used a tape or glue, and it won't let go. What can I use to hep loosen it?

    Google "strap wrench"; they are fairly inexpensive. You will want a smaller one for this job. It's possible that the "glue" you are talking about is actually pipe dope (plumber's sealant).
